When you visit Reykjavik you should not only see the coolest places, but also have a a good lunch and dinner.
Today, Reykjavik has to offer a wide selection of cuisine, from all around the world. The best part of it, is that we selected restaurants that are very different from each other so you could taste as many different cuisines as possible!
Hyper cool juicy American 50s style burger place, where you can get variety of original hamburgers and french fries with melted cheese on it. If you’re not on a strict healthy diet, you will definitely love this place!
Location: Snorrabraut 56 Price: 2.000 – 3.000kr
Not a best looking place, but wait, I still have to say a good part! The soups made there are best in town! Each bowl of the soup is prepared with fresh veggies, noodles and you can choose either chicken or tofu as the main ingredient. For more “local” taste get as a soup which includes egg-noodles. Yes, they are homemade.
Location: Skólavörðustígur 8 Price: 1.300 – 1.600kr
Menu (in Icelandic)
This place serves very delicious Indian street food. If you have no idea what to order, get a Thali, which includes 4 small portions of different dishes, plus a naan bread. If possible, please ask to get a table on the second floor, for a more cozy atmosphere.
Location: Lækjargata 8 Price: 2.000 – 3.000kr
Location: Barónstígur 11 Price: 4.000 – 8.000kr
Probably the best pizzeria in town. It offers good variety of stone stove baked pizzas. You can choose from Margarita to a seafood pizza. Also the garlic bread is extremely good for complete fulfillment.

Menu (in Icelandic)
Italiano! It serves variety of Italian food which is worth tasting. You can even order an Italian burger. Does it exist? Well, at this place it does. By the way if you are not eating alone, it is possible to order a tasting menu consisting of 5 or 8 dishes. The atmosphere is very cosy and inviting, although I am not sure if it has anything to do with Italy itself.
Location: Hafnarstræti 1-3 Price: 3.000-6000kr
Fiskfélagið (Fish Company)
This place offers dishes from all over the world, including local dishes. Dark, cozy atmosphere and artistic dishes for a moment will make you feel that you have just travelled across the world…or at least around Iceland.

Healthy choice for those who wants to try the way health-oriented Icelandic people eat. Menu is different every day and it usually contains some options for raw, vegetarian, gluten-free and meat eaters. After a meal no matter of diet habits, grab some delicious raw cake!

Spanish Tapas restaurant which offers a good variety of single dish courses, tapas and tasting menus. It might sound weird, but it is a good place to taste Icelandic food, by ordering Icelandic tasting menu which includes local specialties.
